The ocean has always been more than water to me. It is history, exploration, science, culture, philosophy, and one of humanity's greatest teachers.
Growing up on the Mediterranean coast, I developed an early fascination with the sea, inspired by explorers, adventurers, and the pioneering work of Jacques Cousteau. That curiosity gradually evolved into a lifelong journey of learning—one that continues every day.
Today, through my writing on Medium and as host of the Ocean Matters Podcast, I explore the many stories that connect people with the ocean. From marine science, conservation, and deep-sea exploration to leadership, history, innovation, sustainability, and the human relationship with nature, I believe every story has the power to inspire curiosity and meaningful conversations.
My work is not about claiming to have all the answers. It is about asking better questions.
I enjoy connecting scientific research with everyday life, translating complex topics into accessible reflections that encourage readers to pause, think, and see the world from a different perspective. Whether discussing the deep ocean, climate, exploration, or society, my goal remains the same: to build bridges between knowledge and curiosity.
The articles you will find here are written for anyone who believes that learning never stops and that understanding our ocean helps us better understand ourselves.
Alongside my writing, I publish the Ocean Matters Podcast, an independent platform dedicated to sharing ideas, discoveries, and conversations about the ocean—past, present, and future. The podcast has grown into hundreds of episodes covering marine science, exploration, environmental challenges, and the remarkable people working to better understand and protect our blue planet.
If even one article encourages someone to ask another question, discover a new idea, or care a little more about our ocean, then it has achieved its purpose.
Because the ocean doesn't simply connect continents.
It connects all of us.
Welcome.
